I’m from a small town in Northwest Indiana. My husband [Tyson] and I met in our college days and his career led us to the Kansas City area almost 10 years ago. We live in Overland Park; we love it here! We have two sweet little boys: Dax and Bodie. And we also have two silly English Bulldogs: Ozzie and Frankie.

I’ve always enjoyed photography, and our son, Dax, has inspired me to transform a hobby into a business; the dragonfly in my logo is my way of honoring him. Dax was born with a rare genetic disorder. A series of tests were completed to determine his diagnosis, and the neurological findings in his MRI showed a “dragonfly-like” cerebellum.

Much like Dax, dragonflies symbolize self-realization, understanding the deeper meaning of life, taking the time to reconnect with our strength and happiness, overcoming times of hardship, and living life to the fullest.

Dax gained his angel wings on November 3, 2024. His diagnosis put so much into perspective for our family - when Dax was born, we really learned how to live life through the lens of gratitude.

It was said to me that life is not about how many days we cram into our life, but how much life we cram into our days. There is so much to celebrate each day. The big, the small, and the just-because moments are all worth capturing. Each family has their own story. Regardless of what chapter you’re in, it should be photographed!
